Topic: Yamaha Clavinova Modus F01

Hello,
here is the basic curve I use on my Clavinova that gives me most similar touch compared to my acoustic one:

Velocity = [13, 30, 56, 91, 108; 0, 35, 77, 117, 127]

It's now in fine tuning stage and I'll post correction as soon as a do some.

Cheers

Re: Yamaha Clavinova Modus F01

I have found very pleasing results using your curve etto. I use it with 'hard touch' setting on my CP33. I will keep an eye on this thread for your revision.

What instrument preset(s) are enabled on your modus and what is it's touch set to?

Thank you,

Chris

EDIT: I think the ability to use hard touch setting on the keyboard means that we don't reach ff too easily. This gives us more to play with.

Re: Yamaha Clavinova Modus F01

Velocity = [13, 29, 45, 62, 78, 91, 103, 116, 127; 0, 33, 63, 88, 106, 116, 123, 126, 127]

Any good etto?

Re: Yamaha Clavinova Modus F01

Hi chris,
I use the default piano settings: preset 1 and medium velocity curve.
I tested your curve (smoother than mine) and I modified it in the first part. I tried it at low volume because I can't find my headphones so I'm not sure about the reliability of the result.. Basically I've found transition from p o pp to mp too abrupt. Here is the new one

Velocity = [13, 31, 48, 64, 79, 93, 104, 116, 127; 0, 35, 60, 81, 100, 120, 126, 126, 127]

cheers
etto

Re: Yamaha Clavinova Modus F01

Hi Etto

Try this setup with hard touch setting on the Modus

Velocity = [18, 98, 127; 0, 112, 127]

Dynamics set to '57'

Limiter set to 'Off'

(I have) Main Volume set to '-6' (adjust as to your personal preference)

Level Compensation set to 'On'

Reverb set to 'Chamber Audience' Default Preset

Let me know what you think

enjoy!
